I Couldn’t Resist Buying This 1970′s Vintage Top & Dress Pattern Before Going to Bed
Even though I wrote in my last post a few minutes ago (about the vintage wrap dress I am working on) that I was going to bed, I had the 70′s on my mind, so I decided to hop on Etsy for a quick peek at the latest vintage patterns before hitting the sack. I really liked this cute McCalls top/dress pattern, so I snatched it up.
I think the maxi dress will look cute when I rock my natural hair in a big curly ‘fro. I’m thinking about altering the pattern to give the collar a more dramatic 1970′s look similar to the wrap dress, but I’m not sure if that would be too much going on along with the shoulder ties. What do you think?
Okay, it’s 1:25AM. Now I’m really off to bed!

OMG this pattern is TOO DIE!! I could see myself wearing all the views in bright summer colors! I love!
I appreciate your enthusiasm. I like all of the views, too. I love 70′s patterns.
It as if there are not enough hours in the day to get to all the projects, i’m salivating over this one! I need a vacation with an island and my sewing machine!
Thanks, Judi. I need a sewing vacation, too. I haven’t made anything since May :(

Thanks for visiting my sewing blog. I created this web site to journal about my sewing adventures and meet others who share my passion for sewing and collecting fabulous vintage patterns. I also enjoy web/graphic design and drawing/painting, but sewing is my favorite creative hobby. I am also slowly learning draping and pattern making.
My blog was on hiatus for most of 2011-2012 due to my hectic schedule (I run a nonprofit organization and a private coaching, speaking and consulting practice). I am obsessed with Pinterest, so I have decided to start focusing on posting quick updates with photos and limited text. Lately, I've only had time to buy patterns, but I am looking forward to making more time for sewing and updating my blog....
Enjoy, comment, and come back to visit soon...Read More About Me
