In January, I created a very ambitious list of sewing goals and resolutions that focused on building specific skills instead of sewing random garments. Unfortunately, I’ve had a very busy year so far and I’ve fallen behind. Since the year is half-way over, I figured this would be a good time to revisit and revise my goals.
Goal: By the end of the year, I will be able to create high quality garments that fit without using commercial patterns.

I was super excited when I found this fabulous pattern for a one seam convertible dress by Rowena of Rostitchery (click here to see the dress).
Even though I have been to several stores, I am still searching for a suitable fabric. Ideally, I need a stretchy/non-cling jersey that looks the same on both sides and cuts evenly so I don’t have to hem the edges. I found a nice silk jersey at Gail K, but I’m not feeling the $22/yard price tag (I need 4 yards). I’m looking for something less …
