In Progress: Simplicity 7705 – 1970’s Jiffy Wrap Dress (DVF Knock-Off)

I am currently working on a great 1970’s vintage wrap dress (Simplicity 7705). This pattern is a knock-off of the classic Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress, so I am eager to see how it turns out.

I Went Banana’s on E-bay and Won Diane Von Furstenberg’s Vintage Wrap Dress Pattern for my Birthday….Yes, Vogue 1549!!! (The One With the Cuffs and Collar :)

I am extremely excited that I won the auction last night and my Diane Von Furstenberg classic wrap dress vintage pattern (circa 1973) is on its way! I love wrap dresses and have had my eye on this pattern for a long time, so I was super excited to find it in my size and in uncut condition just in time for my birthday. My Second Trip to Fabric World

I was so excited when I unexpectedly drove by Fabric World in Stone Mountain (Georgia) on my way to the veterinarian last year (they don’t allow pets so I had to go back another day to check it out). The store is spacious and has tons of inexpensive fabric. Most of the fashion fabrics are only $2.99 or $1.99 per yard and they also have a large selection of upholstery fabrics, which are $3.99/yard.

Diane Von Furstenberg Wrap Dress Pattern (Missing Instruction Page): Vogue 1610

OMG! Words cannot express how excited I was to find V1610 in my size for sale on Etsy for $13.99 plus shipping (don’t hate me) !!! Seriously. I almost dropped my laptop when I saw the price because I’ve had my eye on this pattern and I’ve seen it listed for $95 and up. Clearly, I didn’t have to think twice before I snatched it up for $16.49.
It arrived in good condition, but I was disappointed to discover that a few critical steps appear to be missing or omitted for …
