I am finally posting a new sewing pattern review! I recently finished sewing a black wool coat that I began over the Thanksgiving holiday in 2009. I got frustrated with the project initially and decided to revisit it again when I went home for Thanksgiving in November.
Pattern Description:
MISSES’ LINED COATS: Fitted across bust coats have empire waist, princess seams with pleated lower section, side seam pockets and sleeve variations; coats are above mid-knee length. The pattern is out of print.

It’s not a secret that I have a weakness for sewing patterns, so it should come as no surprise that I used my birthday as an excuse to stock up at the Vogue, McCall’s, and Simplicity sales. First, I bought six Simplicity patterns at the $1.99 sale at Hancock Fabrics. My faves are the Cynthia Rowley sundress (S2587) and the Project Runway skirt (S2413) with the tie at the waist. I also love S2692′s bodice variations.

After I left Fabric World this evening, I stopped by Hobby Lobby to check out the fabric selection. This store has cute cotton print fabrics, but I couldn’t really envision myself sewing anything from the available selection. On my way out, I was excited to stumble upon an unexpected $.99 McCall’s pattern sale. This is only my second time shopping at Hobby Lobby, so I didn’t even realize that they sold sewing patterns.
